Hellfire and Stinger Questions
Posted by Theoden on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 5:37 AM
Hello everybody!

I´m actually building an Apache and have some questions about the above mentioned missiles.

The kit is the Kangnam 1/35 AH-64D and I still don´t know, what to think of it...

Nevertheless, I have a little problem about the rear look of the Stinger and the Hellfire missiles: In the kit, they´re just plane, but I don´t believe, this is correct. I cant´s find any precise pictures of the missiles´ rear side. Do I have to drill holes? Or should I just paint some kind of cover plate?

I want the Apache as it looks ´in battle´, not on an airshow or something.

Maybe someone can help me here...

Thanks in advance, fellow-rotorheads!

Theoden,
I managed to dig you up a couple of line drawings of the missiles you seek, they arent fanststic but I hope its what you're after.

Here is a pretty good pic of some Hellfire Missiles, they are damaged, but the pics pretty detailed.

And here is a photo of a stinger, once again not great...

Also, check out these sites:

Hope I have helped you!

Hi littlebird!

Thank You for searching, but I´ve already found those pics as well. I think, it´s not very clear how the hellfire looks from behind. E.g.: Is the Propulsion section covered or not?

And concerning the stingers: I entertain suspicion that the manfired version (MANPAD) looks a little different from the air platform version... though I´m not sure about it...
