Hi Phil,
That's correct. The kit is a standard Chinook kit with an extra sprue for the MH-47E add- ons (to convert it to the E, the standard fuselage fuel tanks are removed and replaced with the larger ones provided on that sprue).

Looks nice Albert.
Question, how are the door miniguns? I need a couple for my Brit Desert Storm bird and can't seem to find them in 72nd. Don't really want to sacrafice a whole bird for the guns but seem to recall that you can make this kit as a regular build also so maybe that Argentina bird from the Falklands...

Seriously, I appreciate the compliment. Sorry for bailing last month. I had a family emergency crop up while Austin and I were in TC, we had to get back North ASAP (all is well). I will definitely be there (I believe Randy is going to be there too). See you next weekend!

They look so much better in person.
I have the honor to be in the same club as Albert and when he puts a model on the table it is an awesome sight.

Very nice, Albert! BTW, I keep seeing a MH-47E Group Build pic & was wondering about that. I've got on that I picked up at Camp Zama, Japan and would not mind a Helo GB. Cool [8D]

Very nice build. Very nice helo. I wish I could find one of these in 1/48. I can't remember anyone actually releasing one for a while now in that scale.

excellent job Albert!! i'm a fixed wing man myself but i'm planning to build a few choppers down the road a bit. i especially like the subtle panel shading you did to simulate wear. great build and great job. i see those birds up close and personal many times at our small town airport. later.

Duke-the panel lines were done with an enamel-based thinner wash. After the finish was applied (and a cuople of coats of Future), I used MM Helo Drab straight from the jar, mixed with a little Gunship Gray and thinner, to accentuate panel lines. The rest was done with post-shading around various panels.

Hi All,
Finally signed up to an image hosting site (thanks roadkill-375). I finished this model awhile back. This is Italeri's 1/72nd MH-47E Chinook, built OOB. Finish is Model Master Helo Drab. I hope to build another one of these, except in flat black with the OD lettering (ala 160th SOAR birds).
