The Revell 1/48 kit is for a CH-53G (new release from Revell Germany) or a CH-53A/D (old release with USMC decals). It would take a lot of work to make one of those into a CH-53E.

Tim,

Welcome to the forum Devil Dog!Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

Lemonjello and YW18MC,

For 1/48 USMC aircraft decals or 1/72, I usually stock up/keep sheets that have "MARINES" from kits I've built or sheets that I picked up at a LHS.

MARINE22,

I looked through Squadron and Roll Models...no dice on the CH-53E. Try Ebay. It's amazing what's being sold there. Keep in mind, the decals have some typos in regards to the squadrons. The one I built was a 1/72 from Revell Germany.

I've got the old 1/48 scale HH53C pave low from revell that I would like to convert to a Marine CH53A model one of these days. I haven't really seen anything that will help accomplish that yet. I'd be interested in USMC decals also! probably will have to piece part something together. good luck on getting your "53" semper fi, mike

I need to get one of those -53Es sometime. I've got the older -53C from Revell sitting on the shelf and I think I'm going to try to convert it to a Pave Low sometime. Is there an AM company that has USMC decals for the -53E?

Oops, my fault. I thought you meant the MH-53E Italeri Kit #0065. Sorry, no CH-53's but you might be able to work around the MH...just cut down the fuel tanks on the sides of the helo Big Smile [:D]. They do have a 1/48 scale CH-53E from Revell of Germany, though....
