Blackhawk as rescue chopper...need decals
Posted by knight667 on Friday, August 20, 2004 4:55 PM
Does anyone know where I can get 1/48 ambulance-like decals (red crosses on white background) and other markings suitable to turn a 1/48 Blackhawk into a rescue bird?

If you are building a Medevac Blackhawk (from what i can recall), they only had 5 crosses on them. One on the nose, one on each sliding door, one on the belly, and one on the upper transmission housing. So you 'may' be better off masking and painting these yourself for a more realistic effect. Try referencing photos on the net

You could also create these crosses using your computer and then print them out onto a blank decal sheet as well if you are set on using decals.

As far as finding an actual decal set - i wouldn't be able to help you, but others might. You could try Squadron, or simply search around the net for them.

Try these for reference:

Thanks! I think you're right, masking and painting will probably be my best bet.

Archer fine transfers has this set:

They are for 1/35th vehicles, but might work for a 1/48 helo. Here is their website: http://www.archertransfers.com/USAFVcatalog.html

Don't forget to add the crosses to the sides of each fuel tank if you're planning on mounting the ESSS system.
