                        OK, I'm mad, but I'm also a helicopter pilot, so that I guess explains a lot then!

                        I have purchased the SH-3H Sea King from Hasegawa, and want to produce the Sea King MK43, of the Royal Norwegian Air Force. I have gotten Airwawes HC.4 upgrade, and Belchers radome and Short sponsons. I will also get Eduards Exterior and interior for it. Cutting Edge had the serials and Norwegian AF roundels, but I also need the Stencil decals and bubble windows...

                        Anybody know who makes those?

                        Anybody built the kit with the extras on it?
                        Great kit, and it will go great with the rest of my 1:48 Royal Norwegian Air Force!!

                        Let me clarify (muddify) a little!

                        This is what I have got:
                        Belcherbits:
                        Sponson and Radome
                        CPI
                        Airwaves:
                        Cargo door
                        Cargo hook
                        6 bladed tail rotor
                        Cutting edge decals
                        RNoAF Reg no and roundels

                        This is what I have found:
                        Eduard interor and Exterior Photo etch
                        Daco Decals Stencils (these are Blgian AF, but I bet they are the same...
                        Some masks
                        And mushroom radar (for MK43B)

                        I need this:
                        Bubble windows, and more cabin windows.

                        I am NOT skilled enough to make these myself, although I wish...
                        I will have to scratchbuild the interior if I want one, but there are atleast some parts available.

                        So again, any helpers out there?

                        Could try kit bashing another 1/48 helo kit, but that might get pricy. For bubble windows, Academy's 1/48 CH-46E has a couple. Don't think the round cabin windows would work for the H-3 though.

                        Is it hard to make windows on your own? do you need to use vacuum and heat, or is just heat good enough?

                        I can carve a master out of wood, and then use low heat and mold a new windov outta clear styrene?

                        Flightpath out of England, got almost everything to help me!

                        It's not cheap, but I do believe it will be my salvation for finnaly being able to complete my Sea King the way I want!!

                        I agree - Flightpath is the answer! It is a great set with everything you need - sponsons, bubble windows, window frames, Orange Crop detectors, interior and exterior bits and pieces and a marvellous hook and brackets assemble (29 parts in all for the hook and brackets alone). This set also has the 6 blade tail rotor in white metal. Highly recommended.

                        I Was wondering wether it had the bubble windows, but the replies I got were too short to explain it. Just wish he had pictures of it.

                        Just wondering what the cost will be after shipping and the like.

                        Do you know if the door is as nice as Eduards door, or? (the forward airstair door that is.

                        So an update:
                        AIrwaves also had the generator blister that goes on the dog house, and the mod for the rotor blades to become "composite". Now I'm waiting for my DACO decals for the Belgian Air Force (Stenciling for Sea King), and will order flightpath stuff at next paycheck!! This will be an expensive kit for sure!

                        Need an additional hoist for it though, but will have to wait and see what's in the flightpath kit first...

                        Winnie,I'm an RAN Sea King maintainer down under and I'm converting the Hasegawa 1/48 Sea King to an Oz Westland one.I have a conversion set made by an Oz company with new tail rotor,etc but it doesn't have the Composite MRB's.Is the Airwaves set worth it just for those?

                        Actually, death, the composite blades are actually just root fillets and the trim tabs for the original Hasegawa (or revell) blades. but I will have a spare set so after I get mine from flight path (in about 4 weeks) I can mail you the spare set of parts! (may even have a spare 6 bladed tail rotor for your Mk50 (is it?)

                        Sand filter box as well may be available, so let me know what you need and I'll see what we can get ya from the "leftovers!"

                        That would be cool.When you let me know about the parts I'll let you know what markings are available. I recommend the 817Sqn 50th anniversary shark scheme.You're not having much luck with the beers.They make XXXX by teaching cats to squat over the bottles!

                        The Flightpath set has a very nice airstairs door - seperate step treads, side handrail posts and the side framework under the treads. Very nice. There is also a detailed rack for the interior which is visible through that door. If you want to build the rest of the interior and open the sliding door on the other side, you will have to do a lot of scratchbuilding - Filghtpath do not provide material for the rear of the main cabin. I used the set for an RAF rescue diorama (www.aberdeenmodeller.plus.com and then click on 'gallery') and built the seating in the rear from plastic rod, lead foil and card. The set also gives you the square bubble windows. Hope this helps.

                        The Airwaves HC-4 set gives the cargo hook, and the cargo door, so you may open that as well, but now I'm trying to find drawings or floor plans, so that i can build the troop seats, the 'sar' seats in the back, and the Radar operators 'shack' with the coffemaker/radio rack in front (just inside the airstair door)

                        Thanks anyways, and I also got the Eduard interior set that I'll use parts of as well, so I guess my new etchmate is going to really pay for itself!Big Smile [:D]

                        The parts from flightpath are on the way too!

                        Sounds good. Look forward to seeing how you get on with those. I used plastic rod, sprue and lead foil to make up the troop seats down the back and the various bits and pieces that the HAR3 carries. The shack and its seat and consoles are scratchbuild from plastic card. I opened the main door (stbd side) and used it from the kit, having built up the edges of the door opening on the fuselage. By using only parts of the Flightpath set, I had enough to make additions to another Sea King model! If you are careful and plan it out, these Flightpath sets can produce two models! All the best.

                        I have decided that the cabin doors shall be open! And I'll make an early 1980's RNoAF Sea King (069) since I got the decals, and have ridden in that machine noumerous times.

                        That also means that Good ol' Death can expect some parts in the future, since I have a few left overs from Airwaves and Belcherbits now!

                        The only thing I am missing is the stencil decals for emergency exists and the likes.

                        I particularily liked the White Metal Tail rotor blades, they look like the real thing! I will have to increase my skills a lot though, before I start this one.

                        Here is a list of the new "additions"

                        So with that in order, I think there is some building coming up!
                        IF anyone wonders, the flightpath set is ABSOLUTELY wonderful!!
