1/35 scale H-53s?
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, September 2, 2004 8:14 PM
A while back there were a couple of topics/posts on a company releasing resin kits of 1/35 scale H-53s (CH-53Es, MH-53Js, etc.) I believe the company was Nightowl or something similar. Has anyone heard of any new developments on this front?

It was Night Flight models. Chief Owl's been dealing with some personal stuff, so he hasn't been able to work on the tooling, etc. From what I know, he's looking forward to getting back to the project ASAP.

I'd love to see a new CH-53E kit.

Hope Chief Owl is doing ok. I'll be more than happy if/when a new -53 gets produced. I've got the old Revell -53C, and I'm looking for the -53D in 1/48. That will have to hold me over until Night Flight can get on its feet?(or would that be off the ground?)

The Chief Owl is relocating to the USA. He hopes to continue once he is settled.

Well, that's good news. Seems like there is a definite interest in what he's working on there. Guess its a good time to work on that thing my wife calls "patience" and I seem to have a distinct lack of it.

Very true, Dragonfire, very true. Better start clearing some serious shelf space too. That will be one big bird!

Then they'll need to make the following in 1/35:

CH-46E
UH-1N (heard that's coming soon)
AV-8B II and II+

Then that'll round out the MEU(SOC) deckload.Big Smile [:D] I'm going to need a barn to store/display all those models. Could that be a tax deduction?Big Smile [:D]

Hey Carl!
If you don't mind using a little tender loving care and a little elbow grease. Panda has already released the UH-1N in 1/35.
I, personally, don't have any experience with it but I have viewed a couple of really nice builds using the kit.
You might want to check this out:

This was the only build I could find at the present time. The other is of a Marine bird and has been modified extensively. I'll get it posted as soon as I come across it.
