1/48 seasprite/cobra co questions.
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, September 5, 2004 10:59 PM
hi all, as the title says im building the seasprite and have a question. im using the cobra co resin interior set but im confused, on #4 of the instructions it says

"The four electronic racks should be glued to the plastic strips at each corner. These strips form the vertical supports of the rack. The racks should be stacked one on top of the other closely"

now, maybe its just me but does this make sence to you? at least from what i see there is no "plastic strips at each corner". and there is no verticle supports.

i have found very little in the way of pictures for this helo, the best of all coming from a Kiwi site down in NZ (this seems to be their fav helo). but the pictures on that sight down show any "electronic racks" at all.
http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/seasprite.html
my biggest fear is that im the only one who seems to be building this kit/has built it and so im doubtfull i will get a response.

but any interior pictures will do.

thanks

Hey Kyle.
You might try addressing this post to Chief Snake. He is the owner of Cobra Company and he is a member of the forums.
I'm sure he would be glad to assist you in any way that he can.
I, too, have the kit and am planning on ordering the Cobra kit. But, that is a ways down the road.

Ok, I think you don't have the proper concept in mind as to how this is supposed to go together. For one thing, this set is a US NAVY set, not a foreign user so you won't find the right pictures on a Kiwi site. In your resin packet there should have been four pieces of styrene strip, if not then you will have to get some. The styrene strip is to make the upright supports of the avionics rack that sits behind the ASW operator. One strip should be glued at each corner of the shelves in a stacked fashion, each shelf bein nearly in contact with the one below. Does this give you a better idea?
