It covered only a brief part of the Cobra history and jumped into more modern applications.

Yup! I have Airtime's "World Airpower Journal" expo on the Cobra as well. Their new series "International Air Power Review" is also top-notch. The Cobra article is pretty impressive. Doesn't have as much on the AH-1 in Vietnam, though....

AH-1 Cobra Reference

I was in Border's Bookstore last week and picked up an AWESOME aircraft reference manual. It's the International Air Power Review. I saw it while browsing through the magazine section. It was a bit pricing (I thought for a magazine...$20.00 U.S.) but well worth it. This volume covers several aircraft, F-104, the F-4 Phantom, but what sold me most was the section on the AH-1 Cobra. It covers a little history, weapons, foreign users (outside the U.S.) and best of all, the future AH-1Z. If you're at a local bookstore, I highly recommend it for your ref library. AIR Time Publishing is the company that puts it on the street. Smile [:)]
