For what it's worth, I went with the regular blue, left in unsealed, and gave it a very (very) thin wash of brown/gray. It didn't alter the color at all, but in any kind of shadow, it looks just like the photos.

I tried checking a few websites and my own references and hit the same problem you did. Can't say that I've ever studied the Qatari Air Force specifically since I've become an Air Defense Artillery Officer. I'll ask around to see if anybody can help.

For my two cents, I'd say that they would probably have the same undersides as everything else.My 2 cents [2c]

Anybody have any idea of the underside color on Qatar Emiri Air Force SA342L Gazelles? Everything else in their air force has a darkish blue underside, but all the (few) photos I can find of their Gazelles show what looks like black, brown, or very dark gray, which doesn't seem to make much sense. I'm guessing it's maybe a shadow/photo effect.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
