Nice, Swanny. just a couple of observations if I may. The transmission platform doorsshould have more of a curve on the upper edge. And the vertical u/c strut should really be more vertical. I used to work on the British built version, the Westland Wessex, when I was in the RAF, so I have a soft spot for these old beasts.
bdelov, thats a nice kit but it does have a few innacuracies, check plenty of pictures before & during your build.
All the best
Pete

Chris, yes, it's an SAR bird all right with the Belgium Navy.

Bdelov and Ponch - thanks for the comments.

oh, that's a pretty bird. I'm a big fan of H-34's, and everything else built by sikorski. It must be a SAR bird, but with whom? It looks more realistic than the static display sitting outside MCAS New River. It is my belief that the 34 is an underappreciated classic of rotary wing aviation.

Congradulations on an increadible build of an underappreciated aircraft.

Very nice and clean build, Swanny. Nothing to envy from the excellent builds you've posted on other forums.

Very sharp looking H-34! I have the 1/72 Italeri kit and have been looking forward to build one. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve managed to complete another one, no, not the P-47 but the H-34. This is the old Revell H-34G in 1/48 scale. I have replaced the cockpit with a Cutting Edge set and corrected the cabin interior to reflect the actual dimensions of the helicopter (Revell had it all wrong). The exhaust had to be reconfigured to match the aircraft type and a new manifold had to be scratch built. The backside of the dash is fully wired and I also wired the winch and built a cable and hook for it. The decals are from DACO Products and were of exceptional quality.

The detailed kit review and construction feature has been updated on my site at http://www.swannysmodels.com/H34G.html
I don’t normally build helicopters; this is only the second one in five years so be gentle with me.
