Hey all,
So I get out to the Silent Wings Museum here in Lubbock to finish up an exhibit I've been working on this morning, and I pull into the parking lot and notice rotor blades sticking out from behind the museum building... The museum abuts the west ramp of Lubbock International Airport, so there are active aircraft all around the museum. But, upon closer inspection, I was able to get a look at the rotor mast... at which point a little voice inside shrieked with glee. Yup, it was an AH-64A.
So, I ran into the museum and got out to the ramp, where I saw not one, but THREE Idaho NG AH-64As and two UH-60As. Needless to say I got a bunch of great pics. But that's not the end! They took off around 1100hrs, just in time for a C-17 to land carrying... one of the Presidential helicopters! They should have it offloaded now (I'm on lunch break now, but hope to get a bunch of pics of it when I get back.
In any case, I'm gonna try posting the Apache pics when I get them downloaded from the camera at the museum.
Flyin high!
