Believe it or not, alcohol will take off just about any paint. I've used it many, many times to remove enamel paint from canopies, with never any ill effects. Just use a Q-Tip soaked with alcohol to remove the paint. It will work.

Wait! Don't do anything!
Firstly, is it a flat paint? I've found that simply taking a toothpick, dulling down the point, and pushing at the edges of the paint spot will remove it with no ill-effects to the canopy glass. Once that's done, just polish the area and you'll never know there was any paint there! Just don't push too hard, you don't wanna crack the glass!

I just had a similar bit happen when I was freehanding the det-cord housings around my Apache windows. Just cleaned it right up with a toothpick and all was well!

What type of paint is it? If it's an acrylic paint, you can use Windex or Isoprophyl Alchohol on a cotton swab. If it is an enamel, you can use use low-odor mineral of spirits on a cotton swab. Personally, I don't trust normal paint thinner as i feel it is too "hot" and may distort the clear piece, that why I specified the low-odor type. Lacquer thinner is a definite no no.

Okay , i started to detail my AH-64 and being the dumbass i am; ended up running my paint brush across my canopy, so now i have a huge blot smack dab in the middle of the clear area.Angry [:(!]
now, what can i do to get the paint off without distorting the clear area, or what can i use?
