Revell 1/32nd Eurocopter EC-135

Folks,

Has anyone out there in modeling land built the subject kit? I just bought it at HobbyTownUSA this past Saturday during their 3-for-2 sale. It looks as though it's a decent kit, although there seems to be a lot of flash on the parts. Nothing a knife and sandpaper can't fix, though. Just wondering if there's anything to watch out for during the build. The instrument panel has decals, which isn't a problem for me. Makes it easier to paint!! Overall, it's a good-looking kit, BUT, looks can be deceiving................... Looking forward to your comments.

I have tried to build it twice. Both times I feel it came out bad.Weak parts,Rotor system
is pain in the rash.Enstrom tail just as bad. It is probably not a bad kit.I just have a curse on me against that kit.I have the same problem with the 1/32 BO 105.I am gona try both kits again soon. I hope you have better luck then I had.Let us know how it comes
out. The best to all

Davey,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear that you've had so much trouble with this kit. Makes me kinda reluctant to build it now. Oh well. It can't be as bad as the AMT F7F-3N Tigercat kit.................

Wow Neil: great work!
Although I must admit now that the kit can be made into a good looking helo, I do agree with Davey: the rotor system is very difficult and the fenestron tailrotors in my EC135-kits had more flash than fenestron. That makes me wonder wether Revell will keep this kit in their program for very long. Here in the Netherlands the Bundesgrenzschutz-version has been in a big sale and is available for just six euro. We've seen these Revell-sales before and very often after that, the kit is discontinued (Revell wants to get rid of the last stock?).
I also keep having trouble with the exhaust pipes: very poor fit and I still don't know how to place them exactly.
I have different versions of the kit, and I like the German-Police version best: high skid gear, FLIR- turret, searchlight, rescue winch, loud hailer and loads of other extras.
So: it can be made into a real winner if you have the patience to work on its shortcomings.
Good luck!
