I've currently got one book out and the second on the way. "US Army AH-1 Cobra Units in Vietnam" came out last year from Osprey Publishing. Its Volume 41 in their Combat Aircraft series. The Apaches book will be in the same series, most likely Volume fifty-something. After that, I'm taking a break so I can get my flight training in and get some real-world experience, instead of just research. I realized during the writing of the Cobras book that there's just some stuff you need to experience in order to really write about it.

In any case, I'm workin hard on the Apaches book and hope to have it off to the publisher before new years.

The Huey one is gonna be a couple years away still. I've got too much on my plate as is. My editor at Osprey is ready to kill me at this point because I had to put the Apache book on hold for 2 months while I finished my MA thesis. Now that that is finished I'm writing in earnest, trying to get it done before 1 January.

After that, I'm not going to be writing for another couple years. I'll have a year of flight training and then most likely a year in Iraq to contend with, so the Hueys book will be 2008-9 at the earliest.

Pilot, writer, outdoorsman, ladies man, student, modeller, soldier... Jon you're a true renaissance man!

Nah, I'm just nuts.
I'm amazed I have time to do anything anymore! My fiancee even manages to squeeze a few minutes in here and there!
