Nicely done LemonJello. The subtle weathering between the panel lines is done very nicely.

Thanks to all who took the time to look at my latest, I appreciate the encouragement.

Next up? Well, I've got an A-10 that will be in USMC markings (VMFA-333), a guntruck; these two are for current group builds. Plus I've been fiddling with an LVT dio, got my pacific theater Marine figures, just have to get going on the painting and weathering.

I've got a V-22 and a Phrog in the stash that I'd like to get going on soon.

Oh Chris you read my mind. I have been eyeing that Phrog for a while now. Alas though I got to get some of the other stuff in the pile done first. So my Snake will have to be the only helo on the done shelf for the moment.

Yes, thanks for the tip, warlock. I was thinking about the exhaust stains, and I might try to add a little with some pastels, just to give it a try, still not sure though. I just haven't had much chance to anwer my email.

There is about is about 5-6 guys that meet there every other Saturday at about 2pm in the little room to the left of where they are play Warhammer. Sort of a little Modeling Club that has formed. There was a thread posted a while back.

All we really do is bring some supplies and a kit we are all working, sniff some fumes, exchange some ideas, show some techniques and just have fun in general.

This Saturday just happens to be the Saturday we are meeting. That is where the Hobby Chest question came from.

warlock, if I can get it all put together, I may just swing by so you can have a closer look. Is there a gathering at the Hobby Chest? I was just in there getting some paint the other day.

Well, I've gotten a little more done on this snake. Tried an oil wash on this one for the panel lines, I'll let you all judge. Just have to hang the hellfires and RBF flags and mount the canopy and rotors and it should be done. On to the pics.

Should be able to insert a plastic shim on the underside of the hole the blade goes in. That should help it some.

Thanks for the heads-up on the rotor sag, I'll see what I can do to alleviate that.

hehe...i just got done building that one last week.

only had one problem with it..... The main rotors sag. Mine are down about 2 inches, and i can't do a dang thing to keep them up, i've tried everything. look into a way to extend the tabs that you glue inplace, that should help....

Hope you have better luck with the canopy fit than what I had when I did mine.

Here is what I've gotten done so far on my Cobra. Gotta get busy on the weathering and get the ordnance hung.

Don't know about USMC Cobra's but Army one's had tie-downs for the tail rotor to the vertical fin.
Remember when I had to load those rockets, had to be very careful because static(1/2 volt) could set the motor off once the safety was removed.

Thanks for the starting points, please keep them coming. I'll get some pics posted of my work, hopefully in the next week as I'm taking some time off as a reward for re-upping for another four in the Corps. Between all the "honey-do's" I'm hoping to get some building done.

No NTS update on this one, pretty much OOtB, but I've got a second one in the stash that will get some extras from Cobra put in it. I just want to get this one done.

I have a few pics you might be interested in....but I don't know how to post them as they are on my computer and not on the web anywhere. If you want them, shoot me an email, I guess. One shows the flags on the rear of the rocket pods, and another similar to warlock's photo of the flagged Hellfire launcher.
If you wanted other "remove before flight" stuff, the pitot tube has a red flagged cover, each TSU window has a red cover plate, the engine intakes have red pillows, and cloth covers on the exhausts, and then there's the blade tie-down gear. There are also two obscure red safety flags between the legs of each seat that hold the safety pin for the (emergency) canopy removal system.....but most times they are rolled up and hardly visible anyways.
Otherwise, as far as ordnance goes, there's not a whole lot on the bird to flag. Just the launchers at the end of each stubwing (warlock photo 2) and the rear-end of each rocket pod.
Good luck with your bird....hope to see some photos if you can post when you're done. Did you get the CobraCompany NTS update? I'm looking forward to building mine....just got the kit and update set in the mail yesterday!

I hope these can help ya out. Just one thing to add though. If you are planning on putting on some rocket pods in your load. Like the one the guy is loading in the last pic. The pod itself will have an RBF flag on the top in the back at top dead center.
