DragonFire

I do have the instructions for the 'Z' kit. Cobrahistorian has the 'W' kit and is going to scan the instructions for me. Thanks for the offer.

osjohnm:

I have the 1/48 AH-1Z kit and have built the 1/72 Italeri kit of the AH-1W. The 1/48 is just a larger version of the 1/72. Also if you have the "Zulu" instructions, on the parts/sprue breakdown, they have a few parts grayed out for non-use. It's not too hard to figure out. If you don't have the 1/48 AH-1Z instructions, send me an email and I'll scan mine and email them back to you. Otherwise you shouldn't have too many problems.

The lighter gray is light ghost gray, FS36375 (testors 1728) and the darker gray is medium gray, FS35237 (testors 1721).

Snake, do you know what the correct colours for the Cobra's 2-tone grey scheme is?
Italeri say its Light Ghost Grey and Flat Gull Gray.

Thanks

Wish I could help you out with those instructions......I only have the 1/35th kit. But, I'm sure someone here will be able to find a set for 1/48th. Keep us posted. As far as the rotor parts go, though, it should be pretty simple to construct if you get a decent kit picture -- even from a 1/35th, maybe. There are a couple good builds to look at over on ARC, too.

Snake, figured you would be one of the first to respond.

I opened the kit to find that the clear parts weren't packaged seperately and has picked up some scratches, future should take care of that. Otherwise the kit detail seems really nice.

The main rotor blades, tail rotor and pieces of the main rotor mechanism from the W kit are clearly marked as not for use. How they would fit in, I haven't got the foggiest.

I know someone who has the /172 italeri ah-1w kit, would the instructions be of any help?

Don't suppose somebody has the instructions for the 1/48 W kit and wouldn't mind scanning them?

Hi all

My 2x Italeri AH-1Z(1/48) kits have arrived from Holland, picked them up this morning at the post office.

At work at the moment so can't really open them but lunchtime is just around the corner.

When I begin the construction will be needing some "cobra expertise" especially when building a 'W' out of one of them.

Until lunchtime.....
