Working on DML 1/35 MD530...canopy question
Posted by tn_prvteye on Thursday, February 17, 2005 1:18 PM
Okay, I finally got my MD530 with the "pointy" nose (what's the advantage of that anyway?)

However, I noticed that most of the pics of this bird I've seen on the Web, don't have the triangular struts on the front canopy section. The model does.

Any techniques for removing the raised struts on clear plastic? I know about FUTURE floor wax, but before that, should I just sand them away, or is there another method?

No other method, just sand with progressively finer sand paper, going down as fine as you can. There are wet/dry papers that go down to 2000, I believe. The finer the better. Then a final coat of future to smooth it over.

Sorry, I got the last one from SprueBros. I think I remember seeing it somewhere else, though. Lemme see if I can find my link. You've probably seen them before, but you never know...

Here's some, but I can't tell if it's in stock:

Found another, it's the 'Civil' version without the weapons, but it's got the nose if that's what you're after:
