Hi there!
My name is Andy. Please dont pay attencion on my grammar mistakes - I am russian and english is my thierd language...
Now closer to topic: I am building a model of SUPER 61 which is known by the BLACK HAWK DOWN movie. The model should represent a bird on the 2nd of October 1993 - day before its crush. I searched for any information on this aircraft all over the internet even on bhd93.com... found a lot of interesting information and photos but.... still need more data on the bird. If anybody has selfmade photos, skeches or even plans or drawings of the SOAR black hawks please send me a letter or icq message. ANYTHING will help!
especially:
1.troop cabin ceiling (it wasn't covered with sound proof panels on Super 61so you could see all frames and wires)
2.floor was covered with OD ballistic blanket... To say truth I hardly can even imagine how does it look like - any photo or explanation will help!
3. the internal auxiliary fuel tanks were removed.... any ideas what was behind the tanks? i mean the rear wall... I dont think it was so flat like in ACADEMY kit....
Well...thats about it....
thanks for reading and hope somebody will answer :-))

Marines1966,
Check the pics in my Showcase III below. Basically, the cockpit area is flat black from the B piller behind the pilots seats forward; floors, walls, roof, seats, instrument panel, everything. From the B pillar back, it is all medium gray. Again everything. Troop seats are a little darker gray, I use Gunship Gray, seat frames lighter gray. Sometimes floor has black no-slip strips applied as well.

hawkwrench,
I don't work on them, have just taken rides on UH-60Ls and seen a few of the 160th SOAR birds in action while stationed at Ft Stewart, GA. Did my research on the rest. As for the decals, they are not on sale anywhere, a friend in Italy made the file for them and I printed them off . Send me an email and I will send you a file that has them. All you need to do is get some white computer printer decal paper and print them off yourself.

HeavyArty,I'm new to the forum but am very familiar the uh-60 blackhawk.WOW,WOW,WOW! Are you sure you didn't work on hawks.the detail on your DAP just blows my mind.It looks just like your standing on the flightline right next to it.Where did you get your decals from?I would like to order a set for my DAP that I'll be building soon. Also if you have any questions about uh-60's,let me know.-Hawkwrench.

Makes me really want to practice before I take my Pave Hawk out of its box. You've set the bar pretty high, HeavyArty! Thanks for the inspiration!

Sal, the DAP kit is actually the best deal out of the bunch. You get all the sprues from the previous UH-60L and MH-60G kits included. You can build any version from it. It is a little more than the others, but you have half a kit left over once done.

All, Thanks for the compliments. They were fun to build. I still have a couple more 1/35 Blackhawk kits to do as well. One as a USAF MH-60G circa mid to late 1990's, and one backdated to an early UH-60A using CC's new A model exhaust from Operation Urgent Fury, Grenada, 1983.

Hey, am I correct in noticing that you've got a combo deal going on the her chaff/flare buckets? Looks like a couple M-130s with a couple AN/APR-39/47 rigs. I know the m-130s come with the CC upgrades, but how did you go about making the other two (curious since we're sporting 6 of them on our Pavehawks).

Sal,
The AN/APR-39/47 rigs come in the DAP kit. They look really great. I haven't seen them anywhere else.

Gino,

AWESOME builds!!!Bow [bow] I really like the AH-60 DAP, a very excellent job in detail. If you put her on a flightline by herself and took a picture, most folks would think she was the 1:1 scale version. Thanks for sharing.Smile [:)]

Gino,

Great work! Thanks for posting the pictures. I still have to get a "DAP" Black Hawk but have the others. Truly inspirational!

lookin mighty fine there Gino.

I especially dig the MH-60L DAP. Hey, am I correct in noticing that you've got a combo deal going on the her chaff/flare buckets? Looks like a couple M-130s with a couple AN/APR-39/47 rigs. Again Sierra Hotel on both birds!

BEAUTIFUL WORK Gino!!!!

I really like the work that you did on the troop seats on the L. I think that is one of the weak areas of the kit and you really made them shine!

Gino,
Amazing indeed. Being a 60guy I love to look at others depictions of the bird. Very good. I hope I can get to that level of build. My challenge to you now is to rip out the jumpseats in that slick and SB a working carosel ( that would not be easy) update the cockpit to a "Q" model, blast off those decals and throw on some red crosses. Now that would be really cool! Well..... probably not as cool as what you have just shown us... bravo!

What can I say Gino, those Blackhawks look awesome. Thumbs Up [tup] I hope mine come out that good; makes me want to go out, pick up another MH-60L and arm it to the teeth! Great interior on the DAP. It doesn't seem like it was all that long that you shared pix of the interior; was assembly after that point that fast?

p.s. - I'm glad to see the pilots went to a good home!
