I have the Trump 1/35 Hind as well. I have been looking at referances and from what I can tell, the only area that needs scratch work is the troop cabin and area behind the cockpit. The rest of the kit looks great. I will scratch up the details in back myself. I can't justify another $50+ for resin and I don't go for the gimic of PE sheets, I can usually build whatever I need myself.

Bottom line, go for the Trump kit, it looks awesome.

Thanks guys, I've been on the net all morning looking at kits, and boy is that Trumpeter nice. I think I'll go ahead and splurge on it. I'll look at it and wait before I decide to get any of the detail kits, I might just scratch it all if it's not too extensive.

Thanks again!

You just can't beat the Trump 1/35 Hind.
I have the Mini Hobby Models 1/48 Hind D, and although it's a respectable kit for the price (about $13 USD), it's nowhere near as impressive as the 1/35 Trump Hind.

If you have the room and the resources, go 1/35!!

Go for the Trumpeter in 1/35. You get a lot of plastic for your buck and there are update sets available. On the other hand, why not try and scratchbuild the updates? Then you only spent a very small amount on plastic card.... The finished model has huge presence and captures the look of the Hind very well.
Hope this helps. Best of luck

Hind Mi-24 - best kit - any scale ???

I've seen the big 1/35 Trumpeter kit, just seems a little pricey. For $200 I could get the kit and all of the Parts Accessories PE sets for it. For a slightly smaller MHM 1/48 kit, I could go full mod for around $50-60. Same for Revell-Germany's 1/48 kit. I posted other questions on the 1/72 kits on another thread, but I'm now looking at what the best kit for the buck is in any scale, including availability of aftermarket accessories.

Any help is appreciated.
