No problem, I can wait, and I feel your computer pain. I work with the things all the time, and the more that I do, the less I like them. There are days that I wonder why I ever left the infantry.

Thanks again, though, for the cool technique. I think I'll have to give it a try soon.
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

Do you have any photos that you could post of this method? It sounds like it'll turn out some realistic damage effects. Pretty nice idea you've got there. Thanks.

Hawkwrench,

Firstly, welcome to the forum! I'd been wondering how to simulate shattered rotors. That sounds fantastic! Gotta give it a try.

Whenever a helicopter crashes, things get destroyed in a bad way.One of the things almost always shattered by the crash are the main rotor blades. While working on my blackhawk down dio,I found a way to simulate broken rotors. This is for 1/35th scale, but with a little sanding ,other scales wil work too.First, you cut the rotor blade wherever you want with a razor blade. Then you take a tongue depressor(like what the doctor uses) and break in in half. Now glue the depressor to the rotor blade with super glue, hit it with accelerator, and sand the seam smooth. For H-60's, paint the splintered end a radome tan or a touch darker to simulate the kevlar/fiberglass inside of the blade.Voila!Broken rotors for your next crash scene.
