HH-60H markings

thanks for the kind words. the SAR bag is all ways carried, it has tools in it in case of hoist faliure. sometimes it is mounted against the aft bulkhead. however that is only if there are no troop seats there. i made the bag with Tamiya putty, that stuff is great. i was going to make a mold but i ran out of RTV, i think i'll pick some up this week for my next Hotel. BTW on the chaff/flare dispencers be sure to add a remove be for flight flag on the lower right hand of the dispenser.

Ordie, your HH-60H is looking good. Keep posting pics. The red bag by the door is the SAR bag? Do they always carry it regardless of mission? Is it scratchbuilt or did you borrow it from somewhere? BTW, I really like the miniguns. I was very tempted to use them on mine, but I really wanted Hellfires, and I guess you can't have everything.

Still a little detail painting to do, and some weathering, and I think I'll be done. I'm about a week or so shy of four months, about average. I can't imagine how long it would take to do the one in 1/35. Send me an email with your address and what decals you would like (just the logo, or numbers too?) and I'll send them to you.

Couldn't find it earlier, but here is an awesome 1/35 model converted from the Academy MH-60L DAP kit by Jan Visser. He did a great job, love the detail. Truely an awesome piece of work.

yes it's 1/48 using the CC Hotel conversion. I agree the Hotel was origionally used for SAR. Then after a few mods it became a no BS CSAR/SPECWAR platform. In Iraq our birds preformed really great in all kinds oof different missions.

Looking great. Is that 1/48 scale? I would love to do one in 1/35 out of the Academy MH-60 kit. Some day!!

here are some shots of my Hotel. I've had a lot of guest come from out of town and been real busy. However i did recieve my Cutting Edge MH-53 weapons set the other day ( I need the mini-gun feed chutes). I'll post new pics when I close the two halves.

Thanks. I can email you a .jpg of the skull and bones logo that you can use to make your own decals or I can just print out a set of decals with logos and numbers, etc and snail mail them to you. Whatever works, let me know.

your 60 looks awesome, the decals look amazing. I've been kinda busy i haven't had a chance to work on my model. hopefuly i can get motivated the Hotel that I'm working on is going to be A/C 306 with miniguns. then I want to build another Hotel with M240s and Hellfires. tell me how to go about and a set of you decals.

and made a decal of the skull and crossbones.



It turned out better than I expected. I've made decals before, but not from a photo. So thanks again for the pictures, and let me know if you want a set of decals.

your best bet is to duplicate a bird, since HCS-5 has been deployed there have been various combinations of markings. First, HCS-4 has 200 series side numbers and HCS-5 has 300 side numbers. Also when HCS-5 was deployed last year all markings that would identify the unit were removed, this was due to operational security. the only markings left were, data, side numbers, bunos, and the Navy on the tail boom. While in Baghdad the HCS-4 and 5 Helos wore a West Coast Choppers logo on the electrical access panels. However these logos were soon "politically corrected". In the end our logo was a skull and crossed bones. One HCS-5 helo (306) has the side number on the starboard side and not the port.
