Advice on super detailing Trump Hind - and - what happend to the Mil-24 group build???
Posted by gnsnow on Friday, March 11, 2005 4:00 PM
I was looking at the thread from last year's Mi-24 Hind GB and it kinda fizzled out. I was hoping to see what some of you guys did to accurize/detail the Trump 1/35 Hind, as I'm going to start one in May. If anyone has any pics I'd be happy to see them.

Also I'm looking for references on this beast. I have the Squadron-Signal book and I've been to helo walk-around site, but I still have some grey areas that need attention. I've heard good things about the 4+ Publications issue on the HInd, but I can't find a copy of it. Any suggestions or help on super-detailing this bird would be much appreciated. I'm going to try and take HeavyArty's advice and build it with no AM, just the kit and scratched details (but that means I'm going to need good references).

Thanks in advance.

Good on ya, gnsnow. I may be starting mine soon too, haven't decided what will be next.

Here are some links with great interior shots.

WOW! Thanks for the links, who needs books! I wish there were sites like that for every other model I build!

Thanks again HeavyArty!

Yup, great stuff out on the web. I can usually find a referance for just about every model I build, I do build mostly modern (post WWII) stuff though. Glad they will be helpful.

gsnow,

I'm pretty new to the forums, but I saw this thread you started...the sites HeavyArty posted were *awesome* for sure!

Here's one other resource you might want to consider:
Verlinden's Lock On #16 publication number 733...has the entire Hind including full engine detail, APU shots, landing gear...the whole bit. Although it's based on a Polish rotor, it's got a great deal of close up shots to keep you busy.

I built R/M's '48 kit before the Cobra set was available, and now I need to get the kit again just to outdo what I had to scratchbuild previously!

Thanks robva65, I'll check that one out. I hadn't even seen or considered it - thanks again for the tip.
