I asked a question about a Kaman Hok "Eggbeater" twin rotor helicopter some days back about kit availability but haven't located one yet. Is this the helo I'm wondering about? I saw a show on History Channel just this week about USO's. Unidentified "Submerged" Objects. Apparently a type of submarine flying saucer (blah, blah, blah). But in one tiny segment there was footage of Norwegian Navy Kaman helicopters that had one of the things trapped in a fjord. And them buggers had two main rotor blades that are a nightmare to glue on when you're only nine years old. I want my revenge now forty two years later thank you.

Merlin Models of the U.K. Makes a 1/72nd scale HOK-1, which you might be able to get through Hannant's. Be forewarned though - the kit is very rough, and will need a lot of effort to make a respectable model.

I believe Aurora made a kit way back when, but I have no idea what scale it was. The Hawk/Testors 1:32 kit isn't bad... perhaps you could add a radial engine and change the empennage to back-date it to HOK specs...

Kaman HOK-1

I'm normally not a helicopter builder, but I would really like to build a Kaman HOK-1. I've always liked the look of these, ever since I watched them making at sea deliveries from the carrier the the fantail of the destroyer that I was stationed aboard in the Med. Smile [:)]

Does anyone make a 1/72 kit of this helo? If so, is it any good?

Thanks,
Pete
