Maybe it's not a full-blown HUD in the traditional sense. Looks more like a digital gunsight that's NVG compatable

Hi guys!
A friend of mine found one site with the HUD...
http://www.ids.na.baesystems.com/Products/MonoHUD/monohud_1.htm

But the photo sucks... Definitely need another one. it looks like it was mounted on the center top console from the right pilot side... Still need the picture. If anybody will find anything please let me know... Its realy important.
Thanks!

sounds like something along the same lines as the targeting "computer" that the early UH-1 gunships had, before they discovered that a grease pencil mark on the windscreen was just as accurate. I could be wrong though.

At first I thought you were referring to that new S-70 "Battlehawk" Sikorsky's been marketing. But an 11" x 2" HUD? That sounds pretty narrow by anyone's margin. The width-to-height ratio on most HUDs are almost square.

I have never seen a HUD mounted in a MH-60L DAP or any other UH-60 varient. Not saying it never happened, just never seen it. If it was mounted, I would imagine it would have been mounted in front of the pilot on top of the instrument panel surround.

I am building Uh-60 and a little short of info about the HUD. All I know is:
..."It was about 11 inches long, by about two inches square. The pilot could look through it for weapons sighting, although it wasn't used much. It mounted in the vicinity of the overhead light above the pilot seat"...

I need at least a photo of it or a drawing or a simple picture. If anybody can suggest something about it I'll realy appriciate!!!
Thanks
Andy
