Good news for the Marine Corps...looks like Congress told the Marines to buy brand new Cobras (AH-1Z) and Hueys (UH-1Y) instead of remanufacturing current AH-1Ws and UH-1Ns into the new "Zulus" and "Yankees"! Bottomline, it's going to be more cost effective in both money and keeping current aircraft out in the Fleet to meet OpTempo.
Similar situation to the Navy's procurement of the MH-60R. More cost effective to buy new airframes vice send in SH-60Bs through the reman line.
