wow!
that’s really nice of you! I am sure everybody here will need pictures of birds.
I am interested in modern helos especially which are in service right now.
Its rather easy to find a lot of pics on the web but they all look alike and usually don’t show what I need. It would be really appreciated if you send me the interior pics of
CH-53. I mean not the simple view from aft ramp or from FVD. I need step-by-step panorama view of troop cabin (cargo bay) everything!!! ceiling, floor, sidewalls, gunner stations, wire arrangements, ammo allocation. If there are "chipped-paint-places" or oily-spots-places" - I want to make them on my model as they are on a real thing. that’s my way :-))
thanks a lot

465 was the 53 Det on my MEU back in 2001-2002. Your former CO (believe he was there from 2003-2004) was the Maintenance Officer. Good man and good pilot!

Andy,

Unless things have changed a lot since I was in the Military, most Commanders would take a dim view of making detailed photos inside an aircraft, especially during a time of conflict. I'm a Retired Army 04, Aviator type, and have seen troopers brought on the carpet for similar activities. I certainly don't mean offense to anyone, but interior shots would be better received in publications like Squadron-Signal, etc..... I'm sure Lcpl Holdren will send all the exterior shots you want. Smile [:)]

Take care,
Frank.....

I'd have to agree with Oldhooker on this one. I'm current ANG and prior Navy and I'd hate to see you get into trouble over something like simple photos. Please check with your CO or XO my friend.
Be safe and stay in touch.

I also have to agree with Frank and Chris(fromer active duty and NG crew cheif). Another source for such photo's would be through the manufacterer or through a unit's PIO(public Information Officer). If in doubt about taking a photo, don't, it's best not to bust security

Check with your SNCO as well as your S-2 shop. The "2 shop" has BYDIR authority from the CO.

Not to make a big stink out of this but we also have to be careful about indentifying deployed member's names. SOP for OPSEC nowadays. Put a name with a unit and a location...pretty easy to find out a family member's address or phone number. Get my drift. Easier just to use callsigns ar nicknames.

Call me crazy, but I'm not sure I'd want to put exactly where I was deployed to in my location either.

hi guys!
One more time to make sure everybody here understood me correctly: I did not ask for photos of secret stuff or somebody’s faces. I will appreciate any pictures taken as close to aircraft as it allowed - without getting into any sort of troubles for the author.
Thanks
Andy
