I did'nt really find the clear plastic bits a hassle to put in, it just fell together pretty well.
The greenhouse windows were achieved by just simpley using Tamiya's Clear Green Paint..
No harm done by anybody... All is cool!!!!!!!!!!
And i will try to get some interior pics for Andy and who ever is interested.

You're part of the family here just like the rest of us are and your input is ALWAYS welcomed.

Some like to build models that look like they've just rolled off the assembly line, and some like to weather them as if they're about used up... it's the builders choice, either way is fine.

If you want to post pictures, you must first upload your pictures to a server. (Photobucket.com is an excellent choice) Once you've done that, the pictures will have a "URL" address... to get the URL, open the photo on the server you put it on, then put the curser ON it and Right Click... choose "Properties" from the drop-down menu and copy the "http" address (URL).
Then paste that address where you want the picture to appear in your post here... place the following in FRONT of that address, (without the spaces): [ img ], and [ /img ] AFTER the address.

See the list of icons beside the word "Format" above? Move your curser over them and it will tell you what each one does...... the 4th one from the end will say "Insert Image". If you paste the URL address in the text box, highlight it, and click that one, the "img" tags will automatically be added.

Wooty, no problem at all. I find it normal when you defence your point of view. I did not build UH-1myself yet but I will!!! :-)) Thats y I asked about interior photos. Wanna see what to expect of the kit :-))

About chipped paint:
I did not mean square feet of uncovered aluminium :-)) I never flew on the Huey ether but looking through photoes I've noticed there are places like edges, jet intakes, handles etc. with paint filed or chipped. Sorry for my English - its really hard to explain sometimes...
About the reserving in-general type critiques - i would agree with it if we where a championship commission. But here (its my personal point of veiw) it can be kinda late to make any corrections after the whole work is done. But maybe its just my stupid Russian way :-)) to make it hard way. Sorry if my words are not too kind.

As a former chief I have to agree with Frank about "chipped paint" on HUEY's or other helo's used during that time period. It is a chief 's point of pride to keep his bird looking good and keep it flying. I have to agree with Alby about the clear parts fit and the green house windows look great. Keep posting as your time permits

Certainly I didn't mean to be harsh, Andy.

As you know, a picture of a "work in progress" will generally not display all the characteristics of what the completed build will look like, and a hearty "oh... looks good... go on..." comment, simply relates a benefit of the doubt to the builder.

Obvious oversights are the exception, like if the door gunner was wearing Reboks and holding a BB Gun, but I usually reserve in-general type critiques until I see the finished product. Of course, this is only "my" rule of thumb, but doing it this way, reduces the risk of insulting the builder's intelligence.

Your Charlie model is looking really good, Wooty. One thing I noticed is how well you've managed to get the all clear parts to fit. Not an easy part of building helicopter models. I look forward to seeing it with the decals and the rest of the fiddly bits on it. [/tup]

I have improved the machine gunner with a coat of Matt Olive Drab.

Robert, please don't take my comments too close :-)) I thought we are here to help each other and to share our ideas and gained experience. I think that if everybody here will tell you something like : "oh... looks good... go on..." it wont help you much. I realised that your huey is in progress...
if you use airbrush for painting - i would suggest you to cover the aircraft and the mashine-gun-guy with clear MATT coat... but at very very end - AFTER APPLYING DECALS, WEATHERING, WASH etc. (clear parts like windows should be masked)
matt will remove the gloss effect. by the way photoes on sunlight are the best way to show models (true colour)

Oldhooker! Thats Right it is a WORK IN PROGRESS.
I might weather it " just to make it look like the real thing" I think there is a product that they call Dull Coat i might even paint the machine gunner with that or just dont take anymore photos in the sunlight.

It's a work in progress. Chipped Paint? Although there were sometimes "wear" marks where boots scrubbed on steps or door rims (included in the weathering), I never knew of a Crew Chief who would allow paint to be chipped on HIS aircraft.... if he did, he usually wasn't on Flight Status very long! Some helicopters would be extremely worn (if they weren't, they hadn't been used much), but any bare aluminum would have been painted over with all haist during daily (nightly) maintenence.

are u going to apply any weathering on the aircraft? I whould suggest you to "highlight" panel lines and "chippaint" some spots (look at the real thing photos)
the guy with mashine gun in the troop cabin looks too "glossy" for me. Have you ever seen BDU pans shining on the sunlight?
If its possible I'd like to see the close-interior pics of your Huey

Looking good, see you put those instuctions to good use, keep posting, as a note and I can't tell for sure from you photo's but your ammo chutes for the mini-guns should be aluminum in color(trust me, I spent a lot of years on those HUEY gunships) and paint the antenna housing's black, the blade antenna can be black or white
