CH53E 1/72 scale model
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, May 28, 2005 3:25 PM
I was wondering if someone could help me find a CH53E 1/72 scale model form Italeri. I know they are out of stock and cannot find one anywhere. I just returned from Afghanistan and I work on these helicopters. If anyone can give me some help it would be very much appreciated. Semper Fi!

That model is actually out of production for the last couple of years. It does pop up on Ebay from time to time though. There is actually one there now fro only about $10.

Good luck.

Edit: Actually, as I look closer, looks like you are the bidder on this. Could be wrong, but how many people have the login name of usmcairwinger?

Does anyone even make a 1/48 CH-53? I think there was talk of one but it fell thru. Not sure thereConfused [%-)]
Frank, thanks for the heads-up!Party [party] I've been looking for a MH-53 PE set since Squadron dropped them from their catalog this year!Disapprove [V]

Sgt Gump, best of luck finding a "true" CH-53E! From what I've heard, most of the -E kits need some major work to be accurate. I may end up doing one down the line. Good thing for monkey belts or my butt would have been done for off Camp Schwab in '86![:0]Tongue [:P] - Calvin

Calvin,

Revell Germany made a "G" model "53" in 1/48 scale, in several different versions.

There's one on Ebay, with a Pave Low conversion set:

I have the UN version of this.

Take care,
Frank

No need going to "Evilbay". The 1/48 CH-53GS/G kit is still listed in Revell's catalog.

No one makes a 1/48 CH-53E. The Revell CH-53G can be made into a decent CH-53D.

Sgt Gump,

Sorry, I had one spare 1/72 Revell CH-53E that I sent to LCpl Holdren in Iraq a couple weeks back.
