Hasagawa 1/72 AH-1S Cobra
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 2:45 PM
I'm building Hasagawa's AH-1S Cobra and am inquiring as to what color to paint the interior and cocpit tub as well as rotor blades. the instructions say black but, I don't think that is right. If I remember correctly, the Army painted the interiors grey or neutral grey.

Black would be correct. The cockpit color was changed to black as NVG use became more widespread. The gray created too much glare when NVGs were worn. Now all Army helicopters have black cockpits. The rotorblades are black, as it the rotorhead.

I just finished stripping back my old brushed painted 1/72 AH-1S , so I could do a much nicer airbrush finish and I was wondering what color the cockpit was also ! These Forum pages are great for picking up lots of info .
