Sounds great. I too went all out on my MH-60L DAP. I have 3 more UH/MH-60s in the stash to do as well and plan on superdetailing them too. One will be a UH-60A MedEvac with ESS and tanks, one an early UH-60A in Grenada without the HIRSS exhaust on it (using the CC UH-60A exhaust conversion), and #3 will be a modern (block 150 or 152) USAF MH/HH-60G.

Also, if you do go with the seats, you can only put one row of 4 in, row D anyways. With the internal tanks on the back wall, and the center ammo box up front, the rest won't fit. Assuming you leave the internal tanks in, if not 8 seats will fit.

Make sure you post some pics once you get started on it.

OK, i'll have to look into that aswell. I'm trying to go all out with this kit, as it's the most expensive one i've bought to date[:0] i know sad, but i'm gonna really REALLY try hard on this one.

thanks for the idea with the longer ESS wings, I think what i'll end up doing is putting the 2 externals on the far pylons, and on one side Hellfires, and the other rockets....(if i don't get the m230 kit you mentioned) The only downfall to this is i LOVE the look of the refueling probe on it, but i'm gonna have to make some compromises i guessSad [:(]

it's funny, i'm so excited about this kit, but i still have 3 more to go in line before itApprove [^] blah

thanks again arty

Is it the m230 from an AH-64???

It is the same M230 cannon, but it is from Cobra Company. Comes complete with mounting hardware, ammo box, control boxes, ammo chutes and everything needed for it. Great set, I highly recommend it, and it is only $17. Check here: http://www.cobracompany.com/35010.htm

Other than the items that come in the kit for the interior, and a couple of other small items from the CC MH-60G update set and crew gear, the M230 ammo box is the only extra piece I have in my interior. The seats won't fit with the M230 ammo box in place.

You can see how large the ammo box is here. The rest, with the exception of the two panels forward of the gunner's seats is from the kit. Rear portion of center console and center console are form CC as well, but similar to kit parts.

Control boxes go on the cabin roof, they and the FRIES FastRope rig fill the roof area pretty well.

More pics of mine at my Showcase III link below.

For another DAP option, I have seen a DAP with the longer, standard ESS wings. You could add weapons on the inboard pylons, and the tanks on the outboard pylons. It would definitely be a heavy bird, but would look pretty cool. You could also use the standard ESS wings and weapons on all 4 pylons, maybe rockets inboard and Hellfires outboard, or M230 on one side with Hellfires on the other. Weapons combos and options are pretty much wide open.

DAP with long, standard ESS wings. Looks like it has miniguns (could be M230s though) and rockets on each side. No refueling probe on these two either.

Good luck.

RGR arty....

I'll prolly leave off the tanks then, but i still want the seats in, as i have nothing else to go in there. I'm still searching for the DML helicopter crew, i think i'm gonna have my LHS order it for me...that way it's not AS "blah" as i think it'll look without figures.

I'll be sure to update the figures.

A few pointers. The external tanks are not used if the aircraft has internal tanks and the refueling probe. Also, most Spec Ops aircraft have the rear cargo seats left out since you can get more troops and gear in without them.

Good luck.

AWESOME, thanks a ton arty, this was EXACTLY what i was looking for.

I'm not sure what i'm doing yet, all i know is that i want the seats in it... I like the look of the external tanks, but i'd like to keep it a DAP.

I'm thinking about putting them on and making it a long range special forces bird.

Here are the scans of the Academy instructions.

If the scan pics aren't clear enough, email me and I can email them back. Here is the link to where they are as well. http://photobucket.com/albums/v231/HeavyArty/

As far as a standard UH-60 using the ESS wings and external tanks, not usually. The tanks are used for extended range use. Most UH-60 troop carriers are not used for long range, but short ferry trips.

By the way, are you not building it as a DAP? If not, would you like to swap the leftover DAP parts with me. I have lots to trade, let me know.

I bought the AH-60DAP version, and i'm looking to put in the seats on the inside.

The kit comes with all the parts for it, but no directions. Could anyone possibly scan me the instructions for how to put the benches in?

ALSO, what would the chances of the 2 external wing mounted fuel tanks being on a troop transport UH-60?

thanks,
