Grant,
I don't get it. I see a black helo in the above pic. Have seen Blackwater helos that are Blue/white as well. There is also the suspected CIA bird that was on HKN that was sand with the green rockets. Are these the ones you are talking about?

Or how about this Blackwater bird:

Yeah, that's the Sand one I was referring to. Check out the nose in the pic Philip posted - it's a dark blue - almost like a law enforcement bird. Maybe Blackwater never got around to painting it with the whilte/silver stripes.

Definitively a blue bird! My 2 cents [2c]

Anyhow the "agency" one looks better to me.

There's actually several firms providing contract security and air support over there and in Afghanistan as well. Even Blackwater contracts services to include helicopter leases from other companies. Remember the Hip that got shot down?

Might expaln the different paint schemes.

Ah, that's right! Now I remember something about you mentioning a contractor firm that had leased an aircraft that used to fly around up in Alaska.

Just checked Blackwater's site - here's another one of their 530s:

Guess it is a very dark blue. There are quite a few Security Contractors, (a.k.a. CIA cover agencies ala Air America in Vietnam era) over in Iraq and Afghanistan as well. Lots of interresting helos flying around.
