I don't know if you meant this in jest or not but, I read the post myself.
It was made by Dave Roof of Dave Roof's Challenge. He stated that he had known about it for about a year but, was just given the go ahead to make it public.
Will look good sitting next to the CH-46E.
He also said that it was going to have an interior along the same lines as the Bull Phrog. It will definitely be interesting.

Well, if that's true, I know of one kit that I'll be ordering next year! "Big Iron" in 1/48 would be an answer to a lot of peoples' wish lists.

You'd think with the success of the -46 that a -53 couldn't have been too far off.
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

By the way, one reason that I personally feel that this is legitimate, is if you will look at the instruction sheet for the CH-46E? Dave Roof is credited with his assistance on that kit.
Looking forward to the middle of next year!!!

Randie...meant it in jest. That's AWESOME news though. Now I can complete my MEU ACE (HMM-163 (REIN)) in 1/48.
