Over the years Ive learn to make do without an airbrush and most guys when they have seen my tanks and planes swear they were sprayed but in fact they were done with a brush.I do have an airbrush though and I use it more these days.

An airbrush is the way to go. You can't get the nice blending of the colors on a camo scheme, like the two-tone gray above, with brushpainting. It doesn't matter what kind of paints you use, you can't get it looking as good as an airbrush.

I don't own an airbrush, due to the fact that it's too expensive for me. When I need to paint large surfaces, I use a wide flat brush with Tamiya acryllics. They often require more than one coat to get good coverage, but they work out well in the end.
Of course, if you're buying an airbrush, then that's really the only way to go.
Good luck and make sure you post some piccies! Big Smile [:D]
Cheers,
John

if you properly thin the paint, you can totally brush paint the whole model and leave no brush marks. Tamiya paints ARE NOT very good for brushing, but I've found that Model Master Acryl paints are VERY good for brush painting - it levels itself out excellently - right out of the bottle. You just have to be careful and not repeat the part you just painted until it's totally dry.

There are no Apaches in camo in US service. Overall color should be US Army Helo Drab, available in Testors Model Master paints. There is a South Carolina Army National Guard squadron that painted theirs in two-tone gray, like USMC helos for deployment to Iraq last year. Here is a two-tone gray one:

An airbrush will give you the best coverage and best finish when painting any model. I would not brush paint it.

Welcome aboard new2this!

Even though it's one color overall, I would urge you to airbrush it due to the size of the kit. Brush painting will leave brush stroke marks.
