Becoming A Longbow

Hey guys,

I found this image online and had to share. Looks like this poor AH-64A is headed to Mesa, AZ for rebuild as an AH-64D... It just looks naked!

Don't think of it as naked ... look at it as "ready for love."

Yipe... I don't even wanna think about the ramifications of that. Seems like that'd lead to an automatic Article 15! I'm not sure the vintage of this shot, but from the markings on the bird, I'd say it was probably a 6-6 Cav machine that was turned in when they started their Longbow conversion. That'd make it a few years old. It could also be a 2-6 Cav bird, which would make it a more recent photo, most likely sometime in late 2004.

You know what would make a killer kitbash, Jonny ... for you to build Revell's big Apache and modernize it beyond Longbow. And you could give it a cool name ... something like .... oh ........ Comanche! (I can't behave in public)

I actually thought about doing a dio based on this photo. Would definitely be a challenge. Of course, with all the builds I have going on, it'd be a LOOOONG term project, but hey, ya never know!

Damn, it's wrecked. It'd be interesting to see the interior of that shot.
