Decal paper
Posted by intruder_bass on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 8:42 PM
Guys,
Which decal paper is the best for custom printing?
I have white TrimFilm from Microscale and it doesn't stick to plastic at all!!!!
Beside this the white undercoat is too thick! I tried all Microscale liquids on it - still doesn't workSad [:(]
I don't know, maybe it was laying in my stock too long and lost its abilities?

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Andy

I have had success with both Testor's decal paper and Papilio's. Papilio is an art supply store that sells online for a good price. Here is their website:

http://www.papilio.com/

I used the Testor's white paper to print the decals for my MH-60L DAP. It came out great. Had to use white paper because when we (Avus and I) tried on clear decal paper, the green markings disappeared against the black color of the aircraft. We ended up having to use white decal paper and print a black surround around the green markings.

I don't know how much your LHS carries the Testor's for, but I got mine at a Hobby Town USA for only $8 for a pack of 5, 5" x 7" sheets. That is pretty reasonable to me. How cheap is the Trim Film stuff? I have never heard of it before.

Here's my My 2 cents [2c]:

As HeavyArty mentioned we had to use white decal paper. I tried a sheet made by Tauro Models (Italian company) but the ink didn't fix so I ordered two sheets of Expert's Choice didn't try yet but I heard good of that company.
