Good photo.
It is really amazing how they whip those birds around during vertreps.

Nice shot.
Now!! Explain the red, yellow and green color coding on the rotor blades of both helicopters. Thank you.

I can't see the photos but rotor blades have to be tracked and balanced simlar to how tires have to be balanced. The color coding is simply an easy way to differentiate the blades and keep track of which one you are tracking. Some helos actaully get reflective tape on the blades that is used with a strobe light similar to adjust the timing on a car.

I think the color coding also has to do with matching connecting rods and actuators to the proper areas at the hub. You can't see it in this pic, but all related connections to the blades are color coded also. At least they were on the -60's that I flew on in the AF.

Thank you all for the replies.
This will be something to add to my next helo build.
Another question. Do the colors matter AND if they do, what colors would be used on a 4, 5 or 6 blade system?? Confused [%-)]
Sorry if this seems minial but, I'm just curious about this for future reference.
