Hope it is a typo and it actually is $79.89. If not, I'm going to need some of those meds too.

I don't think it's a typo, because in the line above the discount price, it says the regular price is $999.00!!

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but it'll be a cold day in the jungle before I shell out cash like that for ANY model!! Lisa would REALLY have my head mounted above the fireplace if I did something like that!! hahaha... (BooHoo Hoo)

Take care,
Frank

I sent a letter asking if the price was a typo error.

REALLY!!! Not even a 'Garage kit' company would make a kit and put a price tag on it like that! I don't care how many resin, metal, vacu form and P/E brass goodies it has! maybe 200.00 to 300.00 but not 900.00!!

I'm pretty sure that its a typo.....Trumpeter's larger kits have been around the 70.00 to 130.00 mark so far.

Even if it were a 'special' or limited release....why?!....sales would not make the mass production worth it at all.

Straighten up and fly right.....

Hey gang!!!!!!!!Big Smile [:D]
Thats got to be a typo for sure!!!! Thank about it. oviousely the person who typed out that add lost control of there fingers and pressed an extra number!!!!!!!! As awsome as this kit is gonna be, there's no way in hell that it's gonna cost that much!!!!
That is just not logical at all. Look at Trumpeters 1/32 Flanker kit wich (I have by the way) that cost $150.00 and it is loaded with details!!!! One inparticuler is metal landing gear that has springs that work like the shocks!! how awsome is that!! If the Hook is that expensive than surly the Flanker would cost more than $150.00 with details like that!! I just can't see the Chinook costing that much scrach!!!
By some very slim chance that it does happen to be that much than that is just gonna suck big time!!!!!!!!!!! I hope it will really take off and fly and do some good heavy lifting with a price that high!!!!!!!!Big Smile [:D]Tongue [:P]Wink [;)]

Talk to ya later Frank and thanks again for the aurora Hook!!!

Relax guys. This is an obvious typo. None of the other sites that are advertising this show any price (all are TBA or 0.00). Based on the price of their Hind and Hip I would think the retail could be $99.99 and that sale price would be $79.99. Great Models usually list their kits about 10% off retail.
There is no way Trumpeter would shoot themselves in the foot by pricing this around $1000. Even if they were to do a 72nd C-5 (please, please) it would probably still be under $200.
Now take some deep breathes, thats right, feel better now.

Hey Gang!!!!!!!!!!
I've got some very very GREAT NEWS for you!!!!!!!! I called serplus and asked if that rediculous price was a typo, and it is!!!!!!! The guy said that they did not know how much they are gonna be and they just put some numbers in to just fill in the empty space for the price. He said he didn't know why the company did that becauce it would be better to just put TBA or 0.00 So now we all can breathe a welcome sigh of relief!!

I never got excited anyways......There is just no way in hell that ANY plastic model company would do something like that.

The main idea is too TRY to sale kits NOT kill them selves.

.......but thanks for the input all and for the news Marke.

Now.....

When the heck do we get our HOOKER!
Straighten up and fly right.....

Sweet!

Got scared for a minute there... just got my first Hook ride last week. It was pretty cool, even though it was somewhat akin to riding the bus to work... Wink [;)] Still, 00254 was a pretty cool bird, and now I've gotta build a miniature of her in 35th!

Jon,
You're a comedian. Miniature and 1/35 Chinook don't really go well together.

She is going to be big and beautiful!!!

I can't wait.

Yeah, "we" should have... the next time I find any info on an upcoming and much anticipated release, I'll just ignore it.

Once again, I just read on the trumpeter website that further development of the 1/35 CH-47 has been cancelled. You can read the sad news for yourself right here. http://trumpeter.cool.ne.jp/Q%26A.html
Maybe another manufacturer will pick up the slack... : (

Just kidding !!!! Gosh you guys are gullible ! : )

I SECOND THAT! DARN YOU MOGWA!!! ROFLMAO....

Yeah, miniature may be the wrong word... it is a beast in any scale... of course, most of the Hook drivers at FIG are tryin to talk me into flying them. I don't think so! (no offense Frank) Still, now that I've got the manuals for the MH-47, I may just have a big project on my hands!

TOTALY UNCOOL MOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that miniature may be the wrong word but I love um big!!!Big Smile [:D]
I hope that Trumpeter will do some of the other models of the Hook after this release!!!
I'd love to have a CH-47D and a MH-47E in 1/35!!! If Trumpeter doesn't then maybe Cobra co will make us some resin conversion parts to make them with this kit!!.
I know Cobra can do it because they are great at what they do!!!!
