Unless things changed very recently it will be the same old GE T-700-400 engines. The UH-1Y will get the 401Cs but the AH-1Z won't. Of course the tranny on the Z will be able to handle a lot more of their power than the W could.

Yep, it's a whole new animal. Both the outboard and inboard stations will be capable of carrying a full load of Hellfires, and the wingtip stations will be sidewinder / sidearm capable.

That's not a rollout ... that's a hangout ... or a dangleout. Do my eyes deceive me or is it packin' 16 Hellfires? And a couple Sidewinders? That's snake-times-two ....

You are correct, that is the original rollout bird from 2000.

Thanks for the shots, Dave. Looks like it might be the roll-out bird? I believe all the current birds under testing have had the exhausts turned 90 degrees to reduce heat buildup issues on the tailboom (although I can't vouch for the way it looks Wink [;)]).
