Don't know about the Commanche having them. Guess we will never know since the program was cancelled.

Nobody watch james bonds "Goldeneye"? it had the eurocopter with blades the poped off so the escape capsule could eject them!!!

I have to check but Mi-28 has the same system too... I think it has been tested a lot so it is absolutly effective and safe. I'll ask guys on russian forum about this system if you wont.
BTW doesnt Comanche have ejection seats too?

Very interesting. Haden't heard that before. Is it the first effective ejection system for a helo? I personally wouldn't want t test it though.

As far as I know in case of "emergency" ))) the rotor blades go off, then the canopy, then the seat... All it happens VERY fast so it really is effective

In the Ka-50 and Ka-52, the main rotors are jettisoned before the pilot's seat is ejected.

Great pics. One question for you. Is the red handle between the pilot's knees (in the pic below) an ejection handle? How does one eject from a helo with the blades above you? Seems like suicide to me.
