If you manage to obtain the Airfix kit; Airwaves make a detailing set it to represent a Falklands machine.

The Airfix scout was rereleased only a year or so ago.My local hobby/toy stores still have them on the shelves. The kit comes with the skidded U/C.If you have any dramas getting one let me know, and we may be able to do a trade.
Cheers

So this model will be really, really tiny. I like really tiny, but really, really, tiny, thats outrageous.
just kidding I'll try a search and see what comes up. My Hobbytown has a lot of old kits but nothing so old as the 60's.

Okay, just had a look at the site you're using. The Wasp is shown just below the Scout, so it's easy to see the difference between them. I see that you are in Maryland, I know that there are old kit specialists in the states, Putting Airfix model kits into a good search engine should get results.
The kit is quite basic, it dates from 1960 something, so don't expect a lot, the parts are quite small but it is fairly accurate, the Scout is a small helicopter, a bit less than a Hughes 500 I'd say, yet still a 4 seater (on a good day)

Well, thanks. I need to find that kit and figure out a way to put the skids on it.

Rexford
The Scout and the Wasp are the same chopper, the wasp being wheeled for the RN so it can be moved around a ships flight deck, much the same as the RN Lynx as opposed to the Army model.Saying that however, the RAN used the skidded model of the Scout.Trust us to be different!!

Well, The site I am using for reference is http://www.britains-smallwars.com/Falklands/index.html. They have the skidded model. I don't think the wasp and the scout are the same chopper, but thanks for the help!Big Smile [:D]

The only Scout model I know of is the old Airfix kit. You should get one from kingkit or kitkrazy. I think my LHS, Hobbins in Lincoln, had some on the shelf, last time I was home. (hobbins-models.co.uk)
Are you sure it was a Scout? The Wasp is almost the same but has wheels instead of skids. There isn't a 1/72nd Wasp kit but the Scout can be converted.
