                        Modelers, has anyone devised a way to reproduce soundproofing used in helicopters? In my case, it's the Huey in 1/24. I'd be nice if there was a very thin fabric out there that had a pattern like that, but I'm probably dreaming.

                        Anyone tried reproducing that?

                        Check out quilted paper towels. Once painted and glued in place, they look pretty close.

                        Check out fabrick shops they have some stuff that is really good for that! lots of silver and grey tones to choose from....If you, a wife or some person you knows sews ...it can be done.

                        Take tin foil and put it on something that has the pattern to match your scale (the old kit part or window screen or mesh) and rub a pencil eraser over the top of it to emboss it.

                        I use the foil lining from inside my wifes cigarette packets(the only redeaming point from an otherwise filthy habit!!).It's almost spot on for pattern.
