Huey uh-1b tail boom scratchbuilding?

Those are brilliant detailed schematics. Anything on the tail boom shaft cover and fixings?

Thats basically as far as I have got with mine too. I am in the final stages of finishing off the co-pilots side door.

Yes, right now I am building UH-1C from Academy. How far? Well you can say 3-4% Just started. Still colecting info about the transmission and engine compartment. Allready cut out all access doors from both sides, drive shaft "cover"... Not too far though

Yeah they should. I dont know if there are any more close ups in "gburdon's" book though. I know where this site is on the web, but the top image with the extracted rails i have never seen.

Intruder bass, are you doing a similar scratch build project for a huey? If so what is it? and how far have you got?

Great, thanks guys! I will email you respectively for the info you offered. I will try and post my progress on the forum as I proceed with the build.

Cover was held down by zues fasteners, if i remember right it was two per section, they attached through a peice of metal that was secure at the other end to the cover itself. I don't have any photo's but could do a rough drawing if you like, e-mail me if you do.

I have the reference to answer your question. It is a long out of print book Bel UH-1 Super Profile. Send me an email and I will send you a scan of the blueprint that shows how many stringers run and where on the fuselage. I have scanned the full ship in case you want to open other areas.

To answer your other posted question regarding rivets. You need to visit a fabric store and find a beading wheel (looks like a pizza cutter that has been cut into spokes) You use it to impress the reverse of the styrene and the indents formed on the opposite side look exactly like spaced rivets.
