Anybody know the true story of this choppers name? The 1st Cav. Loach that was shot up/down and all around, but survived the war?

Back to surfing the web. I posted this in November, is why the joke about the "resounding no". I didn't hear anything back until I added my post today. A symbolic resounding no.
So, Chief Snake, I didn't hear a thing myself. Cobras rule!!

  P.S.

I seem to remember as well that nobody could recall why "queer john" was
named such, other than it got shot down and then repaired and went out and
did it all again. I believe I have read that no pilot or crew were ever killed in
the loach, or if so, they always came back...one way or another.

If you haven't already, head over to helikitnews.com and try and contact Hugh Mills.  He's the one mentioned in a lot of the Squadron helo books from Vietnam.  Since he flew the Loaches, he knows a lot of the different units, names, pilots, etc.  Real nice guy.

Cheers.
John
