Looking for 2 kits in 1:72, any ideas?
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 4:06 PM
I would like to add to my collection, dare I say. My 1:72 Seahawk needs a shelf partner. An SH-2 Seasprite would be a nice addition, but not able to find any. Is it out of production? Also, my 1:72 Ch-53E could use it's carrier-borne buddy, the Ch-46 Seaknight. I had a Seaknight once upon a time when they were plentiful. Now that I want one they are MIA. Other than e-bay do I have any luck? Thanks, Lenny.

Lenny,

Airfix makes a SH-2 Seasprite, while I believe Fujimi still has the CH-46 Seaknight kit available.

Good luck in the search.

E-Bay has several Seasprite's here: [urlhttp://search.ebay.com/ws/search/SaleSearch?satitle=Seasprite&saregion=0&sosortproperty=1&ht=1&[/url], and a Fujimi CH-46 at: http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/SaleSearch?satitle=CH-46&saregion=0&sosortproperty=1&ht=1&from=R10&sorecordsperpage=50&sosortorder=1&sacategory=220&BasicSearch=

Good luck! <:-)

Sorry about that first link in the post above... don't know how that happened, but the bottom two links are good.

I think Revell Germany Has a Seasprite, though it may be a rebox of the older Matchbox kit.

If you can't find the Fujimi Sea Knight, Hobbycraft Canada released one a couple of years ago.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the info, fella's. I haven't had any luck with the local shops. I'm kinda leary about spending money on something I haven't seen; (e-bay). Just my luck, a day late and a dollar
short. I'll keep looking though. Lenny.

LFirth:

I have purchased several hard to find / out of production kits via E-Bay, and considering E-Bay has a system of weeding out dead-beat sellers, if you do get ripped, you will get a refund.

I've been using them for a couple years, purchasing 121 items, and have yet to encounter any problems, thanks to E-Bay's enforcement of their guidelines.

Some examples of the kits I've purchased on E-Bay:
AMT 1/48 Beechcraft G17.... $6.79
Monogram 1/24 UH-1B........$7.25
Modelcraft 1/48 Cessna 172.... $4.85
Revell 1/72 CH-54A...............$3.95
Aurora 1/48 AH-1G.............. $.99
... just to name a few.

You can find kits there, that you can't find in the stores.

Kind regards,
Frank

Here's one for $9.00, I've bought from this seller before.

Didn't Airfix do a Seaknight?, I have an idea it was listed as a Boeing Vertol, is it 107?. I think it was in Swedish colours.
Maybe the old memory is playing...err where was I?

albert you are correct ,but it was not as good a kit as the hobbycraft (not every day that you see that in print! )
The airfix is the only one on current release ,according to the respactive websites ,the seasprite is not listed on the Airfix site.

http://www.5chr.freeserve.co.uk/hkn168.htm

found this link in my searchs, an article on the model (look down page). I am also looking for the ch/hh/uh-46 (any model). went to the fujimi's web site and its in japanese so that ended in a dead end

http://www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljnew.cgi?Category=Air&Type=NJ

This place shows a little more promise but the item FUJ72147 Fujimi 1/72 CH-46 US Marine Rescue (way down the page) shows not in stock. I sent email for a time frame to them.
