Rapid Camo

Here's a different way to camoflage some Army Helos.  When I was at Little Rock AFB we had some cobras, H-46 and 47s base out of our flight line for some exercises.  They needed a quick camo job that wasn't permanent.  The solution they came up with was buckets of mud applied with brooms.  Very crude and rough looking.

A technique, but not the preferred method of applying camo.

Still worked long enough for the exercise.

As a by-line, & totally unrelated to helos, but related to the topic - the Australian Army used this very same process to camo our Leopard tanks in the 70's. Sources suggest, 1 Armoured Regiment even had a special pit with the stuff on standby. Rather than doing the job properly, it eventually became common practice until the AusCam scheme was adopted. Necessity is the mother.... as they say.
