what color for uscg dolphin?

The color used on the Dolphin is FS12197 International Orange. Model Master has this color in their line, but IMHO, it is too orange (the actual color has a distinct red hue to it). I'm working on an Israeli Dolphin myself (in the older white/reddish orange scheme). I will use Model Master Chevy Engine Red for the orange areas as it has a nice reddish/orange tint that looks close what is used on the real deal. That said, I have heard that Model Master has a line of maritime colors that has the correct shade (I don't remember what it is called though-Coast Guard Red maybe?).

Got this from a calander. DOD did some editorializing with the airbrush, but this is what your Dolphin will look like before you put the decals on.

I got that same calendar, snakedriver. Too bad they removed all the markings from every piece of equipment in it -- I might actually have used it.

According to my source, the pictured A/C is the newest HH65C.
The aircraft is at Elizabeth City NC just after being fitted and modified with the new engines.(note the heat shield below the engine exhaust).
There are no markings on the plane because she just got out of the paint booth and has not been decaled yet. This shot is of a "dry dip" of the rescue swimmer for quals on the ramp.
NOW the CG Dolphins and the Trumpeter kit have the same engine cowling!!
I didn't ask about the color, but red doesn't photograph well. . .

Now if somebody would do something about the interior. Also, isn't the fenstrom tail a tad bit on the small side in the Trumpy kit? (you may have mentioned it at a prior meeting but my memory these days is on the short side).

New information from "the source" (Active Duty CPO), indicated that the photo was an early Charlie Model, the heat shield below the exhuast is even bigger now, He also indicated that Charlie helo is the helo the US should have bought in 1984 (and would have if congress didn't get involved!). Very stable in a hover with actual power! He also said the sound is very different. . .
You're right Albert, The fenestron in the Trumperter kit is for the 365N airframe, the US Coast Guard has the 366G airframe with the bigger fan blades and tail. (bigger blades but smaller in number, 13 on the 365 11 on the 366).
Also, he said the contracter for the paint has changed! The helo is now more of a reddish than orangish, though not as red as the photo indicates, just not as orange as the early white planes and first round orange ones were. So International Orange for the HH65A and HH65B, the CG orange for the new HH65C. The ones loaned to the Isreali's were HH65A's, so they would be orange.
