Thanks Don,

It was a challenge, but worth it in the end (that forward fuselage with all those clear parts had me frustrated to no end). I'm sure the Israelis used the 366G (According to the IDF/AF website, the origin is listed as Aerospatiale in Texas) but it would have been too much of a hassle to correct the fenestron, engine housing, and exhausts (okay, I'm lazy Smile [:)] )

BTW, are you going to be at the meeting this Saturday?

I know the Israeli's "borrowed" at least one airframe of the USCG's to evaluate, perhaps to see if the 366G was better than a 365N (?), but then alot of people were into the borrowing of the airframe, the Army, the Navy, to see if the CG had a real gem. . .we didn't.

Hi Rocky,

Thanks for the compliment. The hoist came from a RoG Bell 412 KLu kit (it was reshaped slightly to represent the type used on the HH-65A), and the mount was made from styrene rectangle stock.

Matchbox Israeli SA 365N Dauphin II completed (pics)

Hi All,

I have a new build to share with y'all. It is a 1/72 Matchbox SA 365N Dauphin II in the old USCG white/orange scheme with Israeli markings ( does this kit look familiar, Don? Smile [:)] ). It was built for a Matchbox kit themed GB on ARC. The only mods were adding the hoist (and mount), plus various antennas to the fuselage. The finish is Tamiya White and Model Master Chevy Engine Red (used the TLAR method for determining what color to use). Decals are from Isradecal (IAF-11) and depicts #901 of the Naval Squadron, circa 1986. The Dauphins were retired from IDF service in the mid 1990s and replaced with the Aerospatiale SA 565MA Panther.
