Maniac,

I built that kit when it first came out.  I thouht the gold cobra design was great.  I remember having problems with the decals.  I hadn't worked with big decals and had problems woking some around curves.  I painted the whole thing gloss black so to me it looked like a toy.  Later on it was damaged while i was moving, I put it in a shoe box and forgot about it.  Last year i bought a CC NTS upgrade kit and rebuilt it I am much happier with it now.  the kit is great and it was easy to build and if you have experiance with decals it should be no problem

I've got the Whiskey under construction right now.  Overall a great build. Watch out for main rotor sag, but otherwise its pretty straightforward.  The "Gold Cobra" is just the AH-1W prototype. If you're looking to build a line bird, the Cobra Company NTS upgrade set is well worth it and allows you to build a currently serving AH-1W.

Academy's AH-1T+ Gold Cobra; any problems?

almost finished my two current projects and I'm starting to plan for my next. I'm thinking about building Academy's 1/35 scale AH-1T+ Gold Cobra, but I want to make sure it's going to be an easy build. Any fit problems I should watch out for or a heads-up on any other problems would be great. I have a feeling though that's it's going to be beautiful kit and a breeze to build, considering my previous experience with Academy...
