I took a look at all the pics, & I've seen some errors that have not been mentioned.
The inst. panel should be all grey, with no black at all. The engine condition levers (throttles to the fixed wing folks) should be on the center console, just about where you see those two empty parallel slots.
Another pic shows the front of the aircraft with three pitot booms. The A model only had the one in the center, above the center windscreen, not the two mounted lower down. The windshield wipers are in the wrong position. They should be parallel to the center windshield framing. The way they are positioned now, they are right in the middle of the pilots field of view.
Moving to the back end, the door that is covering the upper part of the cargo ramp opening should not be there when the ramp is down. That door actually slides inside the ramp when its retracted. I think they got the ramp door of the CH-46 confused with a CH-47. Next, take a look at the rear landing gear. While most of the A models did have the dual rear wheel landing gear assembly, the wheels were a lot smaller than the fwd gear wheels. Those are the same size as the fwd gear.
The next pic shows the fwd cabin entrance. The upper door is not hinged like that at all. In fact, there are no hinges on the upper door at all. It slides on rollers along a track inside the fuselage, & lays flat against the cabin roof when fully open. I’ve already mentioned the pitot tubes & windshield wipers, & this gives a better illustration. Also, if you look on top of the fuselage, you can see two teardrop shaped bumps. Those are formation lights, better known as slime lights. I really don’t think the -47 got those till the C model came out .
The next pic shows the ramp door obstructing the ramp entrance. Like I said earlier, it slides into that dark are in the ramp you see in this pic. The interior does looks that empty, but only when the seats are removed. The only time we ever remove the seats is when a maintenance action requires us to do so. Also the seats are red, & fold up flat against the sides when we need to get them out of the way.
The pic under that shows those (I think) incorrect slime lights. Also, on current -47s, that square shape is one of the GPS antennas, a feature not found during the Viet Nam era.
The FOD screens on the engines in the pic under that are not quite the right size, as they should come more to a point than that, & part of my brain is saying that the -47didn’t have those screens till the B model was fielded.
Lastly, the tires on the gears are too small, & the wheels to big. The actual tires have a much taller sidewall than those low-profile racing tires that come with the kit.
There are some things right with the kit, & I will post them later today, as my lunch hour is up.
Its good to see a -47 represented as a model, but after working on the real thing for almost 14 years now, I have no intrest in building a model of it for myself, but I'll be happy to pass on any info I can.
