Testor's HH-43B Build

Looks great.  You guys did a great job on the weathering and decals.  Only comments I have are that it may need a coat of dullcote, it looks pretty glossy, but it could be the flash.  You could also add the cable from the rescue hook and going into the square hole in the fusalage behind it.  Rotor blades were all black as well. Here is a restored example to take a look at.

Looks good, how old is your grandson? note, at one time standard rotor blade colors were top black, bottom gray, so check references

Thanks much for the kind words and the tips!  You are right, it does need DullCote, I forgot to do that, but just as well,, I can still paint the rotors.  I didn't realize that they should be flat black - I'm  more into fixed wing, but I just love the Pedro - it was the first helo I ever rode in as a local hospital  EMT with the MATS folks from Plattsburgh AFB many years ago.  It's a great bird, too bad they are not really in use much anymore.

Thanks, gdarwin and grandadjohn!  My grandson will be 13 in march, and he is just starting to get interested in actually detailing and painting models.  gdarwin, hope you get your kit soon, this goes together quite nicely, all in all.  No major fit problems that I encountered, no putty needed, just CA as a filler on a couple of seams. The directions are reasonably good, as well.  Some a.m. details would be great for this bird, the rear cabin is just an open void!  The decaling directions suck, but the decals are excellent, just don't know where to put a lot of the signage.  References are scarce for close up details like that, so it's kinda by guess.
